Amsterdam Day 2

Day 2 started with a visit to Chun-the viral food spot serving filled toasted sandwiches and drinks. There are 2 locations; I went to the Spuistraat branch which is the newer of the two and (supposedly) less busy.

I started queuing at 9:45am (doors open at 10:00am). There were already around 20 people in front of me. When the doors opened I was seated straight away.

I ordered the strawberry matcha.

This was one of the best matchas that I have tasted for a while-very smooth with just enough sweetness

For my toasted sandwich I had the Avocado Egg Cheese which is Japanese omelette, avocado, cheese and an addition of sweet mayo.

This was a good sandwich, though not a massive fan of the sweet mayo.

All in all a good breakfast. By the time I left, the queue was massive.

Next stop was Tony Chocolonley Superstore where you find out about how the business started, buy lots of chocolate and make your own chocolate bar.

I decided to make my own chocolate bar-this costs €10

Once you have ordered you provide your telephone number so that you can be notified once it’s ready-usually 1.5-2 hours.

My chocolate masterpiece

A really fun idea.

Next stop was Oude Kerk, Amsterdam’s oldest building. A church which is also used for performances. I’m not particularly religious but I love churches especially the stained glass windows. Entry cost €13.50

Now onto Cinnamood a recently opened bakery selling various flavours of cinnabuns. The bakery was very aesthetic looking.

I got 2 flavours; apple and bueno. For me the apple was the better of the 2, I found the bueno quite sweet. The buns themselves were slightly doughy.

A delicious way to end day 2!
