Bunhead Bakery

Bunhead Bakery is a Palestinian founded bakery based around the corner from Herne Hill Station. Specialising in sweet and savoury sourdough bakes, you will often find a long queue of patient customers especially at the weekends.

I made the long journey to South East London recently to try their bakes.

There was a queue but it moved quite quickly-I went on a Saturday.

Here was Saturday’s menu:

I get one savoury and 1 sweet.

The savoury was Zaatar and Aleppo Pepper Pocaccia. The bread was light and fluffy. It was a little too oily for me and I wanted more flavour.

The sweet was a Rose and Cardamom Bun. This was amazing the flavours so balanced, not too “flowery” I could eat this again and again.

I want to try more of their sweets so will be making the journey back soon.
